Possible Short Story Topics

1)      Alcoholism and how it can affect families - My friends mom is an alcoholic and I've learned through all of his stories the effects on the family that come from it.  There's one story that involves his mom and him getting into a fight outside of a bar when he went out searching for her.
2)     Getting arrested at the SMU football game - A couple of buddies and I were in the student section at the game, wearing purple in a sea of red.  That one turned out with beer cans being hurled at us and the entire student section chanting words at us.
3)     Sister dying of breast cancer in high school - All of the pain that comes from the first family and/or friend death that one experiences in their life.
4)     Experiencing the Rose Bowl victory - Going to LA with all of my friends and getting to go to the game and experience something that most kids won't be able to while attending any school.

Flying

Flying or flying?

Seconds so near,

Forcing myself to free the fear.

Release, let go.

Miles away,

An endless abyss zooms through my eye,

A fleeting moment carving through the sky.

I’m suspended in the air.

Imperceptible flutter by flutter,

I find my self grounded, planted in the clutter.

Inhale to exhale,

Breathe in to breathe out

Cover my mind with a vale

It's the start of this route. 

Heartbeats on the rise, 

This world is vexatious. 

That's what keeps me enticed, 

Can't stop the temptations, 

Don't lose that look in your eyes.

To a new place we sail

Release all doubts.

This clear world is getting stale

The clouds begin to prevail.
